It’s hot outside!  I’m a genius, very observant right?  But yes, the truth is that it is hot and summer it upon us.  The heat = sweat, which = dehydration and water loss.  Another brilliant observation!

1. Water is essential for the breakdown of fat within the body.  After your body utilizes the fat cells for energy, the waste products left over are carried, by water molecules, to your bladder to be removed.

2. The “Biochemistry Journal”  reported that decreased water in the body leads to protein breakdown.  Guess what that means…less muscle.  No good.

3. The finding in #2 leads to the obvious conclusion reported by the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research that decreased water results in decreased on a max lift.  Less muscle = less strength.

So make sure you get enough water each and every day.  It will help cushion your joints and organs.  Keep you cool during these hot, summer WODs and promote you getting that lean, mean, ripped beach body you are after!
