Several weeks ago, the CrossFit Julia crew did a workout in honor of fellow CrossFitter Jason Fine. He is the owner at CrossFit North Scottsdale in Arizona (which just so happens to be a gym that my good friends Mike, Tara, and Katie are a part of).

In the last few weeks, Jason’s battle with cancer has turned south and things are not looking good.
HOWEVER, out of the bad news, Jason launched an amazing effort called Project Kindness. The quote below sums it up well.
“The most impactful lesson I learned in this short journey with cancer is we can all be a little kinder … This battle taught me more than I can put into words right now, but I had a major awakening a couple months ago after diagnosis and prognosis. Don’t wait for something like this (or never) to learn to be better. Be a better husband, wife, friend, brother, sister, son, daughter, uncle, aunt and person … TODAY. It doesn’t have to be complicated, simple acts go so far. Be present. Listen. Hug away … Love to you all, Jason Fine.”
This Project truly goes to show that regardless of circumstance, we can all shift our perspective to find the good in any situation. Change your perspective and change your life. Don’t like front squats, well focus on the opportunity to improve a weakness instead. Don’t like your co-worker, well focus on your opportunity to become a more patient person instead. There is a always a way to see the good, we just have to try.

OUTSIDE THE BOX WOD
-Embrace Project Kindess and do a random act of kindness for someone each day this week. It doesn’t have to be a huge deal or even made public. Give someone a hug for no reason. Send a thank you note to someone who has made your life better. Open the door for the old woman. Do something and share it with us to inspire us to be a little kinder this week.
